Iverhart plus flavored chewables ivermectin pyrantel are used in the prevention of canine heartworm disease. Iverhart max is a prescription medication available as soft chews in four strengths for dogs of different weights.

Iverhart max chewable tablets are recommended for dogs 8 weeks of age and older. For dogs over 100 lbs use the appropriate combination of these chewable tablets. Dogs can be dosed with iverhart plus flavored chewables whole for swallowing or they may be chewed. All dogs should be tested for heartworm infection before starting a preventive program.

If it is suspected that any of the dose has been lost redosing is recommended. This medication eliminates heartworm larvae dirofilaria immitis in the tissue stage providing 30 days of protection following infection. It is important that the dog ingests the entire dose and care should be taken to ensure this happens. It is important for the pet to consume the entire tablet.
